Hanging with Friends!
I was cleaning up my hard drive from ‘07 and found this fun picture. Last fall I was hired to photograph the Liberty Medal Awards in Philadelphia. Bono was the recipient in 2007 for all the wonderful work he has done in Africa to combat poverty and AIDS. President George H.W. Bush was there to present Bono with the award. In 2006 President Bush and President Bill Clinton were the recipients for their efforts to aid the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia. My friends think this photo is such a “hoot”. I was busy photographing a cocktail reception when President Bush ordered his Secret Services agent to confiscate my cameras. Yikes!!! I wondered what did I do wrong. He then asked me to stand by him and Bono and he told his SS agent to take our picture. As you can see I was really caught off guard.
“Magazine Worthy Photos” on The Brides Cafe

If you are planning your wedding, this blog is a definite “not to miss” for planning advice. I was so impressed with the amazing talent that Janie Medley is featuring on her blog every single day. The other day she had an interview with Jung Lee of Fete on her book that was just released. So many of the most talented wedding professionals are featured daily. I’m delighted to be include in the mix. My suggestion is to subscribe to The Brides Cafe for your daily fix of cutting edge wedding ideas.

Let them eat cake….
I had such fun Sunday afternoon photographing cakes for a former bride of mine, Seanee. She is starting up an online cake business and asked if I would photograph her cakes. All the recipes are special family secrets. I like cake and I like photography. What a great combination. After the shoot I got to eat cake!
Allison + Michael 01.05.08
One of the challenges of winter weddings can be finding the time and locations for outdoor portraits. Some of my couples, like Allison and Michael what the romantic notion of not seeing each other prior to their ceremony, yet they still want fun location portraits. We were limited to about 15 minutes of daylight after their ceremony at Saint James Church in Basking Ridge, NJ, so we ran around to the back parking lot of their church and found a field of reeds. What luck! I also used the beautiful green door of their church as a backdrop for a portrait just before the sun set. On the way to their reception at The Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, NJ we also stopped by the historic Morristown Train Station for some really romantic images. I know I’m dating myself, but the station was featured in Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time video.

Jennifer + Nick 12.31.07
Happy New Year! I love photographing New Years Eve weddings, they are so festive. I usually photograph a wedding every New Years Eve and this year was no exception. The Pleasantdale Château in West Orange, NJ was a perfect setting to ring in 2008. Jennifer and Nick were such a beautiful and creative couple who were not only partners in life but also in business. Together, they own a really trendy sneaker boutique in NYC called Classic Kicks. I fell in love with a pair of fur lined sneakers that Jennifer wore (though not at the wedding). The wedding was anything but casual with a stellar candle lit ceremony. The bride wore a one of a kind gown by Lazaro from Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC. At the stroke of midnight, pyrotechnics streamed from the floral centerpieces ringing in a very happy and loving 2008.

Michelle + Ben 09.29.07

Jessica + Jason
How exciting!!! One of our own, Jessica Inverso will be tying the knot in 2008. Jessica has been a long time employee of Marie Labbancz Photography, second shooting by my side for over 5 years. She also photographs weddings for us on her own as my primary associate photographer. On October 3rd of this year she will be marrying her long time love Jason in a beautiful outdoor wedding at Fonthill Castle Estate in Doylestown, PA. Jessica is an absolute wedding addict and has been planning this day for most of her life . Along with the help of Donna at Beautiful Blooms, it will be an amazing “polka dot” wedding day! I’m so excited that I will be documenting her most creative day. I don’t want to give it away but her Romana Keveza gown, which she found at Suky Occasions is so perfect for her artistic persona. Congratulations Jessica and Jason! Everyone here at Marie Labbancz Photography can’t wait to share in your special creation!

Luisa + Jeff 06.02.07
Hot off the presses…. Luisa and Jeffs beautiful wedding is featured in the current issue of New Jersey Bride magazine. The wedding was held at the grooms parents home in Princeton, NJ. They had so many unique features to their wedding. Helping the couple with all their wedding plans was Beka Nave of Innove Events. The couple reside in Texas, so it was really helpful to have someone locally to help with the local details. Luisa found her Vera Wang gown in her home town of Texas.

New Jersey Bride Magazine

In addition to the beautiful feature of Luisa and Jeff’s wedding in the current issue of New Jersey Bride Magazine I also had allot of stock images featured. I’d just like to give thanks to the creative professional that provided “things” for me to photograph.

Tara and Daniel Dean had this image of their first dance at Florentine Gardens in River Vale, NJ selected before they even saw their proofs.

I love this grape and eggplant centerpiece by Laurence Craig Catering of Maplewood, NJ. Who needs a florist when you have a creative caterer?

Margot and Daniel found these charming tuxedo place cards with the help of their wedding planner Jennifer Orsini of Pampered Bride Weddings in Garwood, NJ
Krystal + Jay 12.22.07
Krystal must of been a very good girl because Santa paid a visit to her wedding reception at The Carriage House in Galloway, NJ. I loved her free flowing hairstyle by Claudia Seyler. Her Alfred Sung gown was amazing. It had a removable jacket and bottom which made for a totally new look for Krystals reception.

Nice portraits Marie! I’m always inspired by your visions. I hope we can get together soon for lobster! jab
