WPJA Photo Contest Winners….again!!!
The results for the WPJA Q4 2008 photo contest have just been announced and I was so excited to see that I had 2 winning images this time. Both images were of the amazing engagement and wedding of Jessica and Vito. The Wedding Photojournalists Association is a professional organization composed of some of the most talented wedding photojournalists from around the world. With so much talent it’s just not that easy to win!

Say Yes to the Dress
I was in aesthetic heaven at the 2009 Industry Showcase of the Philadelphia chapter of ISES. It’s the most amazing feast of event talent I’ve ever seen in one place. They had everything from event designers, florists, caterers, and even talking robots! I took so many images of the event it will take me a little while to edit them all. I should have some great images to share with you all next week. The true highlight of the evening for me was getting to meet the cast of one of my favorite reality shows “Say Yes to the Dress”! You all know what an extreme fashionista I am when it comes to wedding attire. I NEVER miss an episode (thank goodness for TIVO)! I’m just so addicted to this show. I often think if I ever changed careers it would be selling amazing gowns at Kleinfelds. Well, I’ve already been an actress, singer, social worker, therapist and wedding photographer! Who knows! Well anyway. I got to meet Mara, Randy and Nicole of Kleinfelds. They were just so gracious and every bit as sweet as they appear on the show. My friend Dave Williams of Dvideography shot this picture of me and Mara (the owner of Kelinfelds). Thanks Dave! Sorry about my scruffy hair. Sometimes I get that way when I’m photographing.

Sample Album Frenzy!!!!
Well, some of you may ask what I did over my winter vacation! You may remember my epic project of the new web site, but did you know I also went on a sample album frenzy? My album company Leather Craftsmen came out with an amazing new series of albums and I just had to have one of everything to show my potential clients. One of my most popular albums is the classic matted album but can you believe they now offer red and copper liners around the images? I also had so many fantastic weddings in 2008 I wanted to do samples of all of them! It was so hard to choose. I have many more images of my new albums on my website Artoflove.com. Just go to About Weddings and Albums to check them out. Thank you Leather Craftsmen for all the amazing new options for my couples!

Welcome Spring!
Happy first day of spring! When I woke up this morning I could not believe it was snowing! We rarely get snow in NJ as it is, yet on the first day of Spring! I thought it the perfect opportunity to bring out my brand new Canon 5D Mark2 and take a few shots of my Crocus’s peeping through the snow. I guess winter was just giving us all a last kiss goodbye!

Table Tops at Mallard Island
Last week I had great winter trip to the “Jersey Shore” to photograph some beautiful table tops for Michelle Santanello of MDS FLORAL DESIGNS. I can’t wait to photograph my first wedding at The Mallard Island Yacht Club on Mallard Island, NJ. It’s a brand new venue near Long Beach Island and the sister venue of Bonnet Island Estate, which everyone knows how much I love working there. Check out the cutest little boat house on pilings where the ceremonies will be held. Michelle did an exquisite Mackenzie Childs inspired tabletop and an opulent sea green tabletop. The room that we photographed the sea green tabletop is actually the brides dressing room. I can’t wait to photograph the brides preperations there! It was so nice to work with the talented Michelle once again!

Stonehenge Revisited
Well, I’m FINALLY getting around to working on my images from my “Grand Tour” of London and Paris last summer. The trip was a lifelong dream of mine and I now have 80 countries on my bucket list. Next summer my grandson and I will be taking the second leg of our tour and will be visiting Italy! Working on the images has brought back so many wonderful memories. The first sight we saw was Stonehenge. I remember the feeling that I must be dreaming when we drove upon the field. It is such an iconic sight, I thought I was dreaming! Here are a few of my favorites. I’ll be sharing some more images of our trip in the weeks to come. I think I’ve found a new interest in travel photography.

Mindy + Ben
The city of Philadelphia is known for its many murals and there is one that has been “calling” to me for awhile now. I was so fortunate to be photographing an engagement session with Mindy and Ben in the Northern Liberties section of the city so I finally got to photograph it. I just LOVE this backdrop. Mindy said that in graduate school she did a research paper on the murals, so it was all the more meaningful! I’ll be photographing Mindy and Bens urban chic wedding in May. Can’t wait!

Bloged again…. on The Brides Cafe
For those of you who can’t get enough of a fabulous wedding check out todays edition of The Brides Cafe. Janie is featuring the amazing wedding of Beka and Jesse Rendell. The story is really great as Beka goes into detail about their romantic story and the planning of her beautiful wedding. It’s always interesting to see how an event planner plans her own wedding. Beka is a Philadelphia event planner and her company is Innove Events.

Hair!!!
What fun I had yesterday when I finally got to see the new Broadway production of “Hair“. My mother would not let me see it the first time around on Broadway and it closed before I was old enough to go on my own. Well, what luck, it actually opened again on Broadway and I made sure to see it opening week. I felt like as teenager again, which was definitely worth the price of admission. I would say it is a definite “must see”! PEACE!

WPPI Winners
I just found out that the 3 images I submitted in the yearly Wedding and Portrait Photographers International print competition in Las Vegas last month won awards. I received 3 Accolades of Excellence (which translates to awards). It’s always such a huge honor as the WPPI competition has thousands of print entries from photographers all around the world. Here are my 3 winners.

Marie,
Vito and I are so happy for all your recent success with the photos from our wedding and engagement!! We are so happy with all the photos you have taken of us!
