Carly + Dan 11.14.09 The Preperations

Posted on November 30th, 2009 by Marie Labbancz. Filed in Weddings

I almost had the wind knocked out of me when I arrived and saw a most amazing Monique Lhuillier gown hanging before me! A true work of art! I could not wait for Carly to put it on (and neither could she). Everyone watched with great anticipation as Carly had the finishing touches to her hair and makeup done by the always fabulous Claudia Seyler. Check out Dans reaction to Carlys gown. It’s what every bride hope for! Who said it’s not special to see each other ahead of time!

So beautiful! I may be a bit late to the party, but by AE’s comment, it appears that the bride will be selling her gown? If so, is it sold already (to DG or anyone else)?

Farah

Love the dress! Love the pics! His reaction to her dress was endearing!

AE

DG, if you are still interested in the gown, please contact me at 214-564-5389. Thanks!

DG

Has the bride thought of selling the dress???

Marianne + Jared 11.07.09 The Reception

Posted on November 27th, 2009 by Marie Labbancz. Filed in Weddings

To compliment their Victorian theme wedding day, Marianne and Jared chose to have their reception at one of Philadelphia’s historic Delaware riverfront mansions, Glenn Foerd. The details were just too numerous to show them all. I’ve included a few of my favorites. The guests tables were named after some of the brides favorite period romance novels and movies and the names were attached to antique looking fans. The menus were hand calligraphed in a Victorian style script. The beautiful flowers and décor were by Petals Lane of Philadelphia. It was my first time working with them and I was totally impressed with the gorgeous job they did. After dinner the guests were all invited to the conservatory for an evening of dancing. Event Planner, Angela Malicki totally outdid herself with the beautiful décor. VU Events provided the beautiful purple lighting for the room. I partially love the LED lighting curtain behind the band. It made for outrageously wonderful band pictures. Speaking of bands, It was also my first time working with band Rags and the All Stars of Elan Artists. I’ve never seen a wedding band with such a large string section. They were just magnificent. Marianne and Jared started the evening off to a beautifully choreographed dance and then they danced the night away!

Marianne + Jared 11.07.09 The Portraits

Posted on November 23rd, 2009 by Marie Labbancz. Filed in Weddings

After their ceremony Marianne and Jared what a few romantic portraits around the city of Philadelphia. I felt the images really captured the timeless elegance and romance of Victorian times. Don’t you just LOVE Jared’s cane and Mariann’s fan? I also had allot of fun creating vintage looks with the images in Photoshop.

Marianne + Jared 11.07.09 The Ceremony

It’s been several years since I’ve photographed a wedding at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia and it is every bit as grand as I remembered it. Is is just so majestic, it brings me back to all the great Cathedrals I saw on my adventure to Italy last summer. I think is was just the perfect setting for Marianne and Jared’s Victorian wedding. Next week I’ll be sharing images of their awesome reception. I can’t imagine how I am going to fit all those details in one little blog!

Marianne + Jared 11.07.09 The Preperations

Marianne and Jared had a strong visual theme for their beautiful Fall wedding. Inspired by historical romance movies such as “The Age of Innocence“, the couple went about creating a very beautiful Victorian theme wedding. With the assistance of Angelia Malicki of Angelia Malicki Events to bring their vision to fruition, the couple truly captured the splendor of Victorian times. Guests knew the day would be special when they received their hand calligraphy invitations. The invitations were hand written by Bernard Meister who worked on such movies as “The Age of Innocence”. The groom designed the beautiful Cameo logo that was incorporated in the invitation and many additional elements of the day. I felt the brides Atelier Aimee gown was so perfectly Victorian. The Atelier Aimee necklace really completed the look. Can you believe that Marianne actually found a pair of white Christian Louboutin high top boots. How perfect is that. I want to give 5 stars out to Claudia Seyler for her hair and makeup design. I was involved in theater for many years and know how difficult it is to do real Victorian up dos. Claudia did such a gorgeous job bringing out the Victorian beauty of Marianne. There are SO many unique details of this wedding. I hope I can do it all in 4 postings. Stay tuned for the couples very grand ceremony at the historical Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul!

True romantics, Holly and Bill did not want to see each other prior to their evening ceremony. Everyone knows how I love my daylight portraits and had their wedding been anywhere but the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts I might of been a bit worried. I knew that the beautiful backdrop of PAFA makes for stunning portraits any time of day. Located on Broad Street in Philadelphia we just calked out the door of PAFA for the famous Broad Street Shot!

It’s been awhile since I’ve photographed a wedding at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and I fell in love with it all over again. It’s grand staircase is such a perfect location for a night time ceremony. Wedding planner Kendall Brown of Eclatante Event Design was on hand to keep the day running smoothly. Amazingly, the ceremony actually started on time (as did the entire day). This is a rare occurrence in the wedding field. Kudos to Kendall. I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing details that Beautiful Blooms and Eclatante have in store for us at the reception. Stay tumed!

These are the most gorgeous wedding pictures I’v ever seen. True elegance! The bride and groom are stunning and perfect for the setting. It must have been the most unbelievable experience for the family and friends who shared in the celebration of Holly and Bill’s once in a lifetime wedding!

Donna O'Brien

Just looking at these photos makes me cry again. The ceremony was truly special. These two people really found LOVE!

Toni @ Marty Moore

The pictures capture a truly beautiful event. There was not one thing Holly would have changed about the evening.
How lucky we were to have the wedding “dream team” . The venue, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, flowers Beautiful Blooms, wedding planner Kendall Brown, Eclante Event Design and Marie Labbancz.

Sometimes it takes someone very special to bring a couple together. Holly and Bill lived on the same street in Philadelphia yet never met. One day while walking her adorable Yorkie, Lola, the two struck up a conversation. The rest is history and they both have matchmaker Lola to thank! Everything about their wedding day was so picture perfect. Holly had an amazing Lazaro gown. The embroidery was just so gorgeous I think she should frame it. She paired the gown with a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes with I DO on the soles. Claudia Seyler was on hand for Hollys hair and makeup. I particularly loved Hollys up do. Lola needed to go for a walk before Holly left for her wedding and she showed me the very spot where she and Bill met. Beautiful Blooms did all the flowers and decor for the wedding and here are a few teasers. Stay tuned for the ceremony at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Marie,

I think you know this story already but Bill was my roomate at the time he and Holly met. He has been an incredible friend to me for over three years and I was so excited when they announced their engagement! They are an amazing couple and you captured their love beautifully.

I’ve been so busy with my beautiful 2009 wedding that I have not had the time to post some of my engagement shoots from my 2010 couples. It looks like 2010 is going to be a real banner year for weddings. I have already booked so many fabulous events I can hardly wait! Here are just a few of the couples I will be photographing.

Always a location for very grand weddings it’s wrap around balcony makes for the most dramatic reception images. Congratulations to all my 2010 couples!
